1st Fathers Day x

Today was James first Father's Day. We kicked it off with a nice early chit chat from Henry through the monitor at 5am, to me stubbing my toe , getting back to bed for an hour or so to finally waking up about 7ish.

Henry was excited to give Daddy his gifts! :) so we did those in bed.....Henry had carefully selected a few of daddy's favourite treats followed by the new Coldplay album.....

Around 9am ish we set off to Beckenham. The plan was to walk in the park but as I was hobbling quite a bit, we opted for a short stroll to a cafe for breakfast. We treated daddy to anything off the menu and he opted for a ham & cheese croissant with a cappuccino. The cafe was great as it had a small indoor bit at the back for children to play in. After a while I took Henry in to sit amoungst the other kids. He was in awe and shared his toy with a little girl around 3ish years old.

After a bit more hobbling and a trip to waitrose to get some veggies for a roast we set off home for the afternoon. James wanted to make Henry his first spag bowl & whisked him up a few pot fulls to keep in the freezer.

James cooked up a lovely gammon roast and we all sat around the table for dinner. Henry didn't dislike his spag bowl but wasn't fond of the new texture as there were lots of bits! He pulled some right old faces ...was so funny!
I cleared up while Henry spent some time with James, had a bath and pjs and then some play time and a story.

Was a lovely day indeed! Xxx

Can you tell James was in charge of bathing this time? :)

Story time....

Ouchhheeee!!!!

Ok so we've had a box full of toys Henry has grown out of (can you believe!) and his bath seat etc at the top of the stairs for some weeks now....( I know lazy bums not getting in the loft).

So as Henry is up at 5am most mornings now, to grab a smidge of a lay in I went straight downstairs to grab his bottle instead of trying to get him back to sleep with the dummy. Yet on the way down stairs in my half awake mostly asleep state I stubbed/bashed my toe on the ruddy box!!! I knew it was bad as it was throbbing like nothing I've ever experience before but I soldiered on and after the bottle working (hurrah! We got another hour n half) I tried to get back to sleep ignoring the pain.....

As it's Father's Day we took James for breakfast in beckenham then popped to Waitrose for some Sunday roast shopping..... So did a bit of walking-mostly hobbling (who knew we used our little toe for that much weight distribution) before I was able to grab 5mins to put it up and rest....

Needless to say the box has now been moved.... Better late than never! Jhheeze!!

2hours after.....

After our morning out! :(
