Wonderful Weekend

Friday, James took the day off to be super BBQ chef ready for a visit from Christine and Trevor. It was a scorcher of a day and Henry spent all day and night in just his nappy! He was so good and enjoyed seeing Granny and Grandpa come up from the seaside. Granny helped Henry with his lunch before he went for a snooze....

We spent little time in the garden as it was just too hot and sticky so took shelter in the front room....

Before Henry snoozed

After Henry had his snooze we set up for the BBQ and had a lovely spread of mostly fish and salad! Was delicious!

No one would know that seconds before this pic was taken James and Christine were squabbling over trout! :) was very funny.

During Friday evening a storm was begining to brew and it was quite exciting. I love the sky coming over dark and the low rumbling of the thunder. Standing in the garden James and I waited till the rain started and hopped it indoors. While all were in front of the TV I was hanging out the window of our bedroom enjoying watching the lightening strikes it wasn't as big as the night before but still exciting!

Saturday, and up at the crack of dawn with Henry I took him downstairs to play and have his weetabix while James caught some sleep (he was shattered from his cooking and a stuffy nights sleep) Christine came down to make tea for trevor and popped back to bed to rest after not much sleep either.

After a while all appeared and we had some breakfast before Christine and Trevor set off for home and I went for a run. It was so humid but I have a new route (that James found) which is shady and cool and I feel I'm getting back to pre-pregnancy state of fitness so that's a real achievement for me :)

Saturday day after my run and Henry's snooze we set off into town to pick up a card and bday pressie for my great auntie Christine's 60th bday party later that day. I bought her a lovely dressing gown from the White Company (also helped as there was a sale :)

We had lunch at home and when Henry eventually went for for a snooze James and I caught a siesta! We were out for the count and woke at 4 and the party started at 5! Eeeek! James and Henry had a quick bath together and we all dressed and set off to South Godstone... Henry met all his 4th cousins for the very first time and absolutely loved playing with Max in the play room.

Finlay (Max's brother) adored Henry!! He He even said to his mum is Henry my brother?! Hehehe

It was great to see all the family on my mums side and have a good catch up. Auntie Chris had a beautiful cake made for her and her daughter Danille (my 2nd cousin) who is 3months pregnant with her 2nd babe, decorated the marquee in a bunting shabby chic way. It was really gorgeous!
Henry did so well and enjoyed playing with the boys... He lasted till about 9ish when he was wiped out and getting grumpy for sleep, we got him home and he went straight to sleep from car seat to cot taking hardly any milk.

A really lovely weekend indeed xx

Beautiful cake- all 100 cupcakes were either carrot cake, chocolate, banoffee and vanilla.
Great decos!

The family!

With the birthday girl!
