Godstone Farm

As James has taken today tomorrow and Friday off we thought it would be nice to do some family things. So Godstone Farm it was! It's my most favourite childhood place and is perfect for a few hours out.

We arrived around opening time at 10am and began our day on the farm trail.... We saw all the usual farm animals, goats, pigs ponies and donkeys. Henry took them all in observing everything around him and made some friends with a donkey! :) there was a mummy pig called Peggy with the cutest piglet. Peggy was making an amazing grunting noise which fascinated Henry no end, he wasn't quiet sure.

After walking along the dinosaur trail we headed to the petting area. Henry again wasn't sure but he enjoyed being carried around by daddy. He got brave and stroked the rabbits ears and to our amazement he didn't pull them! He was very gentle.

Not sure of the fluffy chickens!

Came across this cute little guinea pig post office house which I think Nick and Emma should buy the kids for their GP's (and no I don't mean local Dr).....

We learnt a little bit about my home town too, good old Orpington! And now I know why my primary school logo was a chicken! Turns our there are chickens named "Buff Orpingtons", chickens that originate from Orpington! Who knew :)

The pings!

There was also a large area where a bomb had landed during WW2.... I always remember this from when I was young. My grandad always used to tell me what it was but I never really paid much attention! :/

The bomb site now filled with water and greenery....

We lunched at the tea house... And then chilled out on the grass enjoying the sun...

Treating Henry to the kiddies lunchbox! He scoffed it up!

Messing around before it got too busy....

After we had more of a look around before heading to the big kids play area where all the cool & fun zip wires/slides/climbing frames are etc.... Henry of course was far too small for most of it except two little swings!

It's all gonna be a different ball game when this little mans up on his feet and running all over the show! :)

It really was a super super day indeed and we got lucky with the weather! Xxxx
