We started in Barming (roughly) and headed along the river through to Maidstone (got to see Fremiln Walk from the water) all the way through to Wateringbury. We had two locks to pass through and thank god Emma was paying attention as James and Nick would have closed an open lock in attempt to open it! DoH! :)
Lock action!
After 3 hours of sailing, we moored up for lunch and as Henry was due a sleep and I was busting for the loo it was perfect timing to push Henry around in the pram (thanks to granny and phoebe) before setting up for lunch. The boat did have a small toilet on it but I whimped out!
Lunch is served!
Luckily enough Henry stayed asleep for a whole hour and a bit so James and I got to eat lunch in peace!
We carried on along the way followed by some swans who were enjoying the bread the kids were feeding them.
On the way back we stopped at East Farleigh bridge for a quick toilet stop and managed to pass through the lock
safely, moore up and devour some cream teas not to mention debate weather you put cream on the scone before the jam or jam before the cream. Either ways it's a Devon or Cornwall way to do it! New to
Me! :)
We managed to get the baot back right on time at 5.30. We were all thoroughly shattered by the time we got back to Nick and Emma's house. We fed Henry, let him have a little play or rather the kids stole him away! And then set off for home.
A really really lovely day. Super enjoyed it all.
