Stratford-Upon-Avon

Today we ventured into the land of Shakespeare. After breakfast, we all left together, saying goodbye to my parents, we set of about 9.45am.

Finding a decent multi-storey car park where James could park in a little niche taking up 2 spaces for his mega wheels we walked into town. Despite it being overcast with rain in the air we were prepared for our day out.

Our first stop was Shakespeare's birth place. The ticket includes either all houses (New Place, Nash house, Halls Croft, Anne Hathaways House and Mary Ardens Farm) but because of Henry's "attention/patience" span I opted for just the 3 which are included in the price and last for a whole year! So we can visit as much as we like :)

We had a good look around and had to persevere with the buggy but we made it round the old higgedy style house no problems. When we got out it was raining so we dived into a Paterisserie Valerie's for lunch. Despite it being 11.30 Henry was good and ready for food. Coffee'd and caked up we headed for the other 2 houses on the ticket and the RSC theatre.

The town map.

Wandering around enjoying having a nosey we came across an AGA shop. James is really interested in them now we have been cooking on one since we've been here. He found the AGA in the house and it costs £7,000!!!! Ahhhh! Not to mention the expense of everything else. Wow!

We found our way to the other two houses with no problem and I can say Ive really learnt a lot about the history of Shakespeare today. I won't bore the blog with it but if it comes up in a pub quiz give me a call!!! :)

There were dressing up boxes in the New Place and I couldn't resist taking this little selfie :)

We returned home at about 3, headed for a swim and then out for a drive!. I got to have a little test drive. James was acting all nervous so I pulled over and let him take over :). Home, bath Henry and hot dogs for tea.

Loved today :)
