So today was the day!! Super exited and pumped on adrenaline we arrived at Zed Events. A derelict shopping mall, rented by the company to host the zombie run.
Starting prompt at 9am there were 21 of us. We had a quick briefing of all the do's and dont's and what to expects and then as soon as we were in the building it was constant acting from there on!
We had to sign a disclaimer and as soon as we had finished the lights went out, there was banging on the door and we had to run through the corridor and into the "safe room". It was petrifying!
At least 80% of the whole experience was in the dark and we had to get used to it quickly! It was also freezing cold and I'm glad I had a scarf!!
After a briefing and the story outline we were taken to the shooting range (all still why the characters were acting) and taught how to use the shotguns. They were only loaded with soft air pellets. We were instructed to shoot the chest and not the head for obvious reasons!
The first half consisted of following the two police officers around and shooting zombies, getting the gist of the layout and getting caught up in the whole act! :)
After a quick break we were left to our own devices. We could head off in any direction we wanted. Seen as though the majority of the place was dark we heard for the main mall where the lights were on. We got caught up in a deserted soft play area where outside was half a woman and a pram turned upside down. We saw a head in the soft play ball pit but when we looked back it was gone!
One of the police guys had been infected and was running around or thumping around and he saw us on the stairs and chased us up. He cornered me almost and I managed to dodge him to get away!! It certainly tested my fitness haha. This time round the zombies can grab you and that meant you were infected! James got infected but I managed to stay safe :)
It was such good adrenaline junkie fun and a real laugh! I would love to do it again!
