Messy Dinner Times!

Today we visited the clinic for a weigh. Henry is now 17lbs and 11oz!! Which is bang on average so he's doing really well. Now he's 6months he can have pretty much everything to eat except shellfish and some nuts although we can start to give him smooth peanut butter now. The health visitor said the earlier you introduce nuts the less likely it is that babies become prone to a nut allergy unless it runs in the family of course. But we are in no rush to start peanut butter. I ate nuts when I was pregnant so I'm sure he will be fine. American research has shown pregnant women who eat nuts through their pregnancy are unlikely to have a baby with a nut allergy as it's been started from a very very early stage of life therefore the body is used to it, according to the health visitor today....who knows! Sounds pretty logical.

Henry did have his first piece of bread with butter today he loved it! We bought a small size loaf so the slices are smaller than a normal loaf, just to get him started. So far so good.

James made him chicken, tomatoes and cheese for dinner which he enjoyed but not as much as my home made berry smoothie :)- we think he's going to be a dessert man like me, grandad and grandpa! Just the same he makes a wonderful mess and even managed to get me tonight!

I love every dinner time with him. :)
