We spent this gorgeous weekend down in sunny Lenham with mum and dad.
The Lenham family festival was on so we decided to make an afternoon of it. After arriving, changing and lunching little man we walked the very short walk down into the village. The festival was all day with non stop bands, bar tent, open community centre with local kids dance shows and karate shows, tombolas and game stands all in aid of various local charities.
After the boys grabbed a beer and diet cokes for ma and I we stopped to watched a band then wondered around the tents. Feeling hyped up from the beautiful weather & the feeling of relaxation we decided to have a pop at the tombola. There were so many mix match prizes to be won. Dad joked to James " imagine if we won that old puzzle.... I'd hand it back"- I go up choose the tickets and I won!!... Guess what it was.... The puzzle dad didn't want! We all rolled up laughing... Kept the prize and moved on swiftly!
Next was a darts stand... I egged James on as he's quiet the player at Xmas... 20p for 3 darts! Bargain! Highest male and female scorers win! So he had a pop and scored 74! I had a pop and by pure fluke I scored 93!!! I was top of the score board but was to wait for the news by phone call next day. I was in suspense all night.... was I to win the tin of biscuits or not??? Oooooo :)
Next was a hole in one challenge and the prize was a day trip to France. Unfortunately the boys had no luck but Henry had his go at putting! He almost got in it but the ball curved last second!
After all this fun and me finding more Bargains for Henry on a stool that was raising money for their baby and toddler group....we headed off for a sit down and a drink... Henry had a chance to cool off with a quick strip down to his vest! Was way too hot for him and he was getting all sticky!
We headed back to mum and dads for a BBQ and a hot tub evening followed by a few cheeky sherberts or 4 :)
Henry slept really well and woke up to another scorcher of a day.... After getting the phone call that I indeed was Lenhams female darts champion, we walked down to the market to meet the lady to collect my tin of biscuits! A proud moment indeed :)
Henry spent most of the afternoon in his makeshift paddling pool which he absolutely loved. Followed by dinner and a visit from my nan, we said our goodbyes and headed home! A really lovely weekend!
