An extremely busy day

Today was super busy. My parents arrived at 7.30 (dad was working his first aid courses & mum was coming to spectate on Henry's swimming so she knows what to do when she picks him up. I also introduced the nursery staff to mum so they know who mum is when collecting him on Wednesdays)

Henry was up bright and early at 5.45 but I managed to get him to snooze for 20mins with me in his bedroom after a warm bottle. His teeth are playing up today and he woke with a rosey cheek to prove it. After not wanting much breakfast and managing only half a banana mum dressed him. I made sure his bag was all set with everything he needs such as, spare clothes, dummies, a bottle with some formula, spare bibs, raincoat (thanks Wills), nappy creams and teething gel. I also have to provide the nappies and wipes so I bagged them up too. All for his own box at nursery.

     All set :D

I managed to get some bargain reduced t-shirts and bandanas in tesco yesterday so if they get ruined they didn't cost a fortune!

James was busy with work today so he stayed home while mum and I took Henry to nursery. Day 3 and its the day I leave him from 9.30 till 12.30. He was near ready for a nap so managed to get some shut eye for about 40mins. He is now sporting his new car seat! It came yesterday. He's now been upgraded to the big boys chair! He looked so snug in it.

Sparko! Poor sausage, James put the seat on the highest option so he could sit up. Falling asleep like this looked so uncomfortable. As we arrived to drop him off early I reclined him and drove around the block to give him extra snoozing time.

Henry settled straight into nursery playing with cars on the floor barely looking up to say goodbye. As we walked out my mum balled her eyes out!! Jheeeeze just when I was just about coping and trying not to think about it! The reassurance of a costa coffee was a nice distraction and we set off. I stopped at Aldi to stock up on nappies and wipes as going back to work next Wednesday I don't fancy doing too many shopping chore trips on my 2 days and the weekend!

Costas in hand we headed back home. James had his meeting cancelled so we decided he was to swim with Henry this afternoon and come pick him up from nursery with us.

Super proud of my little man today. Katy his nursery nurse said he ate all his lunch which was salmon fish cakes, veggies and a yogurt, drank lots of water and did two paintings!!! It's so lovely to hear the feedback and it's always great to see him so comfortable in the nursery environment.

  Henry's first paintings :) xxxx

As Henry's swimming lessons are Wednesdays at 1.30 we headed straight there and due a nap we waited till last min to get him out the car.

He had a great time and really really enjoyed it. He was really relaxed and couldn't wait to get in. We think all the swimming on holiday has helped him immensely!

Super Excited while waiting to go in.

After swimming he snacked and we headed home for a much needed energy boost! Coffee!

When dad arrived and James finished his calls we went into town. Nursery suggested some shoes for Henry as they play outside a lot and the grass and AstroTurf get damp. All week I've tried him in the tesco, next and boots shoes we've bought him but none fit very well and he instantly comes out of them if he hasn't pulled them off first! So we decided a trip to Clarks it was!

He was a little pickle  but stayed very still when the lady was measuring his feet.

About to tear down the shelf!!

After trying two sizes, we settled for the more fitted pair rather than the loser ones. Just for his first starters anyways! He was so funny I was in tears! As he's not used to shoes he was taking a wider step and looked like he had wobbly drunk legs!

Cutie pies!

Eventually he fell asleep in his pram and we left him until about 5.30. He woke gently but just couldn't seem to wake fully. It's never happend before and he was trying to hard to wake up but tiredness was winning. He had a few bites of dinner, quickly changed his nappy chucked on some pj bottoms, didn't bother bathing him, fed him a bottle and he was a goner! 6pm on the dot and he's down for the night! Think this nursery malarkey is knocking him for six. A new routine to get used to but we will all get used to it soon.
