Mr pickle pants rose at 11.30 just in time to have his lunch so we could eventually get out into the sunshine!
The whole of broadstairs was packed solid but it was a great atmosphere with Morris dancers and such folk every few yards...
We wandered down to Victoria gardens where all the market stalls were. Trevor wanted to see if he could get Henry a personalised flannel so he could join the gang along with phoebs abs and wills. Luckily enough it was there and after some choosing as there was just way too much choice Trevor opted for a hedgehog flannel... Before finally paying I spotted a guitar and we both knew that was more like Henry! It was an hours wait so while the lady caught up on her sewing we headed out to meet back with the gang.
I was peckish and so was Christine so we headed down to the pier for some cockles and the usual polystyrene cups of sea life that we could devour!
We wanted to take Henry down to the beach so we headed down while Christine and Trevor headed back. I bought Henry a little bucket and spade so he had something to play with. They were the perfect size for his little hands!
He loved the sand! He was very content playing with it and brushing his spade and bits about..., James also took him for a paddle and he didn't seem fussed by the cold water at all! He was taking it all in but I think he was more comfy just playing in the sand.... He didn't even try to crawl off!
When he had had enough we headed back up to get his flannel and then home. We had some down time while Henry played and eventually went for a nap by which time James and Trevor headed off to get some fish and chips for tea. We had a lovely tea although Henry woke up on que for his dinner time at 5 causing me to begin the cycle of indigestion! After he was fed and bathed we hung around for a coffee before setting off back home.
A really lovely start to the weekend!
A few more piccies xx
Henry has officially started the climb on the Aldrich height chart :) he's taller than monkey and grandpa (according to James!)
Loving loving the new flannel! My lot will be delighted that he is now also on the growth chart!
