A day at home

As Henry stayed with my mum last night (was arranged a while ago, yet I didn't realise how much I felt I didn't want him to go after him being at nursery all day for the last two days. Mum said he didn't have to stay but I know how much she loves having him and she needed cheering up :) I woke up missing him and desperate to get him. Luckily enough mum stayed with my auntie in Croydon so I didn't have far to go. I left the house at 8.15am and called on the way.

Mum said she had been up and down since 3am with Henry not very well.
When I got there he was happy to see me but runny nosed and a bit grouchy. Turns out he had bit of  belly ache, wasn't eating much, bad poo's and a bunged up nose. We all agreed it had been a long week and Henry had been non stop. What with picking up on all the new stuff at nursery and probably catching a little something there too.

I'm convinced it was what he ate at nursery and his teeth. He's been a bag of dribble all week. I can see his other little tooth creeping through as well.

I got him home at about 10ish and he woke from the ride in the car. He had a banana and some water and seemed happy to be home playing with his toys, James and I. I was due to meet a friend for a catch up but instead of going out I thought it best to keep little man at home to relax so she came over for a cuppa tea instead.

Henry had a grizzly afternoon hour nap waking once and was very clingy to me (which is unusual) when he woke. Refusing a drink or any type of food, I gave him some Calpol. Calpol working he was back to himself playing with Sanela and being a monkey.

James was at hockey in Tunbridge Wells at this point playing his first hocky game of the season.

When Sanela left Henry and I went for a walk for some fresh air. He was right as rain by this time and I decided to get creative and make him something sensory. I popped into the £1 shop and got him some men's Hairgel and a sandwich bag.

Using some food dye, tipping and sealing the gel into the bags make for a nice sensory squidgy toy. Henry was interested for about 10seconds before carrying on with spinning the wheels of his buggy. Think it was more of an "art attack" moment for me! :)

Bath time, bottle and bed, Henry went down just as James walked through the door at 7. He seems a bit better let's just hope be has a restful night.

James' team won 3-1 so a good mood from the hubs tonight :)
