Chilly Sunny Beaches

Last night we arrived down in Broadstairs to spend the weekend with Christine and Trevor. James played hockey this afternoon and his team won 4-0 against Sevenoaks so all was in a good mood :)

Once we arrived we did the usual organising, feeding and bathing Henry while James and Trevor popped out to get the dinner.... Chinese takeaway...Grim :/ but t'was Christine's request and all else enjoyed it :).

On the beach at 9am.....

Come 6.30am (lay in woooo!) this morning we were up with Henry in a happy mood, brekkie and playtime we headed out for about 9ish. It was gorgeous bright sunshine but frozen! Really chilly biting winds we braved the beach. Henry loved it and had free reign to wander. With 3 layers a jumper, coat, hat and wellies on he was a little bit like the state puff marshmallow baby. When he fell over he couldn't get up again so would wait in said position until we picked him up! Bless....was very cute.

Eyes closed....

Waiting to be picked up....

Henry's little wellie prints.... <3

We wandered to the green grocer to grab veggies for dinner and arriving a tad early we decided to kill ten mins grabbinga quick  coffee in Ballards. Was nice to warm up! Everything in hand we headed back to start dinner. James bought down a lovely Beef joint and cooked everything fresh. Henry fell asleep In the pram and stayed asleep while we stripped him off and popped him in his travel cot. The fresh air works wonders! :) I got some time to read my book and chill before he woke.

In Ballards....

Dinner was really lovely and James made such an effort he spoilt us. Washing up whilst contending with Henry pulling on my jeans I had to abandon ship and take him out. He has 2 teeth coming through and was getting grouchy.

Tired boy....
Sitting with Granny....

James sat down to do some tax returns with Trevor so Henry and I wrapped up warm again and headed out for more of a stroll. I took him up to Piermont Park which is up the top of Broadstairs high street. It was a bit of a spontaneous walk but worked out lovely. We played in the park for about half an hour and I let Henry walk around the park where he stumbled over and landed face first in a mud patch! Crying with mud on his nose cheeks and chin I wiped him over and set off back down the high street! We walked the long way round down to the crazy golf and along the beach before heading back.

He's not a lover of the swings..can you tell?
Roaming around before he fell....

Snacks, tea and Coffee'd up, we packed up our last few bits and said our goodbyes. :) happy weekend!
